After debuting in the late '90s with Reasonable Doubt and In My Lifetime, Vol 1, he began a chart run that notched over a dozen number one albums spread over two decades, including the multi-platinum, Grammy-winning Vol. From the projects to the throne, New York rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Jay-Z embodied the quintessential rags-to-riches dream, becoming one of the most successful MCs of his generation while creating an empire that made him one of the richest artists of the era. That's also really weird because Meg Cabot's books usually do have morals, but this one really didn't. That doesn't exactly send out a great message, especially for younger readers. And the book was actually almost concluded on that note. Although the scene was not described (thankfully), it was discussed mildly afterward, but it was treated as if it had been nothing special, nothing deep or personal. Then, at the last minute, her mind changed. I thought while I was reading it that the main character, Sam, at almost seventeen years of age, would choose not to have sex, since throughout the book, she seemed to be leaning away from it, saying that she wasn't ready. In fact, that topic basically took over the book, and it was relatively graphic in that way for a Meg Cabot book and pretty disgusting. Sex is another matter entirely, though, and this book was filled with references to that topic. She usually makes her heroines so innocent, they won't even drink or party like so many teenagers do nowadays. I'm surprised that Meg Cabot included sex in one of her books. Sure, it's a continuance of All-American Girl, which I liked a lot, but I expected more from it. I was honestly pretty disappointed by this book. I nurse my beer trying to get a handle on everything going through my brain. Dancer hadn’t told me shit, and that has to fucking stop. They thought torturing a patched member of the Savage Brothers just because they could was fun. Which just brings to mind another reason why life is fucked up right now, I got word from men in with Dancer that my brother had been fucked up more than once in the last month by some fucking guards. In fact, doing so could get your ass sent up. You have to be able to trust your brothers with your life, if you can’t there’s no point in having them around. That shit didn’t happen without a narc being involved. Today a shipment of narcotics we were guarding through town had been raided in the town before ours. Small things have been happening that lead me to believe we have a mole in our midst and that shit was a bitter pill. Life was shit right now, between Nicole and my men being on edge. It’s also unclear as to whether it will be made into a movie – like One True Loves – or a TV show – like Daisy Jones and the Six. No casting has been announced yet but we will be sure to let you know as soon as any cast members are revealed. So far, we only know that Reid will executive produce, alongside Circle of Confusion and Picturestart. HERE WE GO!!!” Who will be cast in the Carrie Soto is Back adaptation? Right now, I am feeling very, very lucky to be working with such a phenomenal team to bring Carrie, Javier, Bowe, Gwen, and Nicki to life. There are more steps to come before it hits your screen but I will keep you posted along the way. “They **get** Carrie, they love her the way I do, and they understand the heart and potential world of this story. A post shared by Taylor Jenkins Reid writes, “From the moment the manuscript for CARRIE SOTO was completed, the incredible people at made it clear that they were the perfect partners to make it a great adaptation.” They spend their days biking around their sleepy little English village and looking for any taste of excitement they can get. In 1986, Eddie and his friends are just kids on the verge of adolescence. The film version, scripted by the author and directed by her husband, Alfonso Arau, has become one of the most popular foreign films of the past few decades. It has been translated into numerous languages, and the English version, Like Water for Chocolate: A Novel in Monthly Installments, with Recipes, Romances and Home Remedies, enjoyed similar success in the United States.
